What can be more interesting than writing an English literature coursework? Writing about W. Shakespeare’s, B. Show’s, S. Maugham’s works can be only a pleasure for a student.
First, you should choose a topic for your future English literature coursework. It must be interesting not only for you personally, but appealing to other students as well.
My advice to you is as follows:
- Every English literature coursework is a piece of writing, which analyses some literary work or one of the stages of the English literature development, etc according to the studied material;
- If it is the analysis of a literary work, you are expected to do the following:
- Read the text itself;
- Be able to provide all necessary quotations from the text;
- Be able to retell the content briefly.
- The analysis of your English literature coursework can be subjective or objective in character, but within reason.
Apart from this, do not forget that you are writing an English literature coursework, but not an English literature dissertation. Your English literature coursework must not be very lengthy. You are free to write it the way you want, but remember some definite rules:
- Your English literature coursework should be logically organized: that is to have a logical sequence;
- Your English literature coursework should be divided into chapters;
- Your English literature coursework should have the conclusions, in order to prove that you have done some piece of work and became a specialist in this sphere;
The most difficult in writing your English literature coursework, to my mind, is that you will have to analyze a literary work, not just retell it. It will not be easy.
Wish you good luck!
