Research papers in MLA style do not have a cover page. It is one the most distinct features of this style. Also, keep in mind that MLA strongly recommends to avoid the use of blinders and folders.
 
MLA research paper layout: the first page

  1. Top left corner – the first four lines:
    • student’s name;
    • tutor’s name;
    • information on a course;
    • date.
  2. Center – the fifth line: title
    • first letters are capitalized;
    • no bold;
    • no underlining;
    • no italic attributes.
  3. One-half inch indent – the sixth line: first paragraph comes.
  4. MLA research paper layout: pagination

    • Starting from the first page;
    • Top right corner;
    • One-half inch;
    • Student’s last name (space) page number.
